As the year draws to an end, we’re pausing to reflect on all that we’ve accomplished together. From reaching incredible milestones to championing wellness, teamwork, and community spirit, 2024 has been a year of growth, connection, and making a real difference. None of this would have been possible without your continued support, and we couldn’t be more excited to share some of the highlights from this unforgettable year.
Baker Materials
It’s time to shout about Baker Materials and the improvements we’ve made this year. It has been a good year for us. We have a snazzy new website you are viewing this blog post on, making spec sheets easier to find and giving you access to regular news and updates. Our Instagram and LinkedIn account have regular updates and videos you guys seem to enjoy (and the team enjoy making them).
You asked and we listened
We have continued to expand our stock range to meet your requirements including the weird, the whacky and the wonderful. At Bakers, staying connected with you is a priority.
Tina Mulcahy says, “We’re always looking for ways to keep you in the loop. From regular e-shots and social media updates to improvements on our website, we’re committed to making your journey with us as smooth as possible. We’re always open to your feedback and would love to hear from you. On behalf of myself and the team, I want to say a massive thank you for your support this year. We can’t wait to see what the next year has in store!”

Baker Labels
Committed to innovation, we made the jump (quite literally) investing in the first UK installation of Durst Tau RSC 340 LED. The press features “best in class” Fuji Samba print heads providing 1200 x 1200 dpi and running speeds of 80m/min CMYK – 52m/min CMYKW.
“Our Labels division is the core of the business, and we will always maintain the commitment to our customers to offer them the best possible label production capabilities. Our future with flexible packaging is new and exciting and growing at a fantastic rate. The challenge that we are enjoying now is to keep Labels growing and improving alongside. The new Durst Tau RSC 340 LED is a leap in that direction, and we cannot wait to see what it can do for our customers.” Steve Baker, Managing Director
BakPac
Our flexible packaging division, BakPac, has seen a huge amount of growth this year. We have made some pretty big investments to keep up with the demand of our recyclable MONO pouches. The HP Indigo 200K blew us away with its capabilities, so much so we bought another!
We also added two more Galaxy pouch converters and that meant a brand-new factory space, because, frankly, we ran out of room.
Harry Baker said “We are building a foundation of the highest quality equipment to allow us to keep up with the growing demand for flexible packaging. The two 200k presses and a bank of Galaxy pouch makers will put us at the forefront of the market, ready for anything our customers need.”
In October, we opened our doors to over 100 print and packaging pros from around the world for the HP Indigo 200k Open House. Between live demos, a guided tour of the factory and our amazing materials warehouse, panel talks, and some serious networking, the event went down a treat.
Developing the Bakers Dream Team
Our team focused on enhancing their skills, sharing knowledge, and showing that teamwork truly makes the dream work. New staff are entered into the Bakers Academy sessions which show how the company and equipment works. Thanks to their dedication, we’re heading into 2025 more prepared than ever – and with awards to show for it! This year proudly took home the trophy at the Digital Printer Awards in the “Closing the Skills Gap” category and were finalists in the Essex Business Awards for “Employer of the Year.”
Here’s to building on this momentum in 2025!

Prioritising Wellness, Teamwork and Adventure
At Bakers, taking care of our people is always a top priority. This year, we embraced wellness, teamwork, and a bit of friendly competition with activities like:
- Laughter yoga
- Meditation and breathing sessions
- Quiz nights, game nights, fire pot and an Olympic-themed sports day, where the competitive streaks really came out to play.
And then came the big challenge: a 27-mile hike from Eastbourne to Brighton. The team tackled the challenge with focus, determination, and plenty of encouragement for one another. It was a true bonding experience that brought everyone closer together. Safe to say, our in-house gym more than proved its worth this year!
Bakers Foundation- Charity and Community
The Bakers Foundation has achieved an incredible milestone – £500,000 in lifetime donations! This year alone, we proudly donated £150,000 to over 30 deserving causes, helping to make a real difference for those who need it most.
As proud sponsors of the Brentwood Half Marathon, we cheered on our amazing Bakers runners and hardworking volunteers, all while raising crucial funds for our community.
We’re also thrilled to have been recognised for our efforts, receiving the Essex Business Award for Charity and Community. Thank you for being part of this journey – together, we’re making a real impact.
